  15. MROOCHECK INTERFACE FEATURES
  16.  
  17. Mroocheck PC Mouse Interface (in U.K.: PUNCHINELLO MK II)
  18. is a microprocessor-based adapter for attaching PC mice, trackballs, 
  19. glidepoints, radio-controlled mice to all models of Amiga computers.
  20.  
  21. It is connected between the PC mouse and Amiga Mouse port.
  22.  
  23. It supports PC serial and combo (PS/2 and serial) mice working in 
  24. the following protocols: 
  25.  
  26. Mouse System format,
  27. Microsoft format,
  28. Microsoft format with Logitech extension.
  29.  
  30. Mroocheck converts these serial protocols to Amiga Mouse Port format
  31. including all the specific features like the middle (3rd and 4th) button 
  32. support or high resolution. The conversion is made fully by interface 
  33. microprocessor so NO additional software drivers are required.
  34.  
  35. The interface start working simultaneously with computer's start 
  36. so mouses could be used in the early-startup-menu (unlike the mice 
  37. connected through the serial port).

  39. Additionally, Mroocheck interface recognizes vertical and horizontal 
  40. mouse wheel movements and converts them to analog joystick signals. 
  41. mice wheel movements are sent to Amiga via Amiga Mouse Port.

  44. MROOCHECK.DRIVER
  45.  
  46. Syntax: Mroocheck.driver QUIT/S, FREQ/N,
  47. where FREQ is the horizontal frequency (in kHz) of current Amiga chipset 
  48. graphic mode. Default value is FREQ=15 (PAL, NTSC).
  49.  
  50. Mroocheck.driver converts Amiga analog joysticks signals 
  51. (horizontal and vertical wheels movements) from 
  52. Mroocheck PC Mouse Interface to input events for input.device.
  53.  
  54. The input events generated by Mroocheck.driver are compliant with 
  55. the format used by the NewMouse program (by Alessandro Zummo).
  56. This ensures the full compatibility with all the existing wheel-support 
  57. software.

  59. Wheels movements are transmitted independently of (simultaneously with) 
  60. mouse movements and mouse buttons clicks.
  61.  
  62. Mroocheck allows scrolling in both directions (horizontal and vertical)
  63. even in mice with one wheel only. Switching directions (from vertical 
  64. to horizontal) in one-wheel mice is obtained by holding the 3rd mouse 
  65. button simultaneous with wheel movement.

  68. FREEWHEEL PROGRAM

  70. FreeWheel is a commodity which converts wheelmouse events into 
  71. scrollbar movement or cursor key movements.  
  72. It can also map several useful functions to the wheel button, 
  73. and even a fourth button...

  80. When Mroocheck.driver is running the MroocheckTest shows wheel movements.

  83. AUTOMATIC SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
  84.  
  85. 1. Boot the computer from its hard disk.
  86. 2. Run Mroocheck-Install from the Mroocheck floppy disk.

  88. Note: The Installer program (from INSTALL Workbench) must be present
  89.       in the C: drawer of the booting disk.

  91. Note: Mroocheck-Install installs Mroocheck.driver and FreeWheel program. 
  92.       FreeWheel is installed in SYS:WBStartup drawer.

  94. Note: If you use any Amiga chipset graphic mode different tham PAL or NTSC

  103. 1. Copy Mroocheck.driver to the C: drawer.
  104. 2. Place the line: 
  105.    C:Mroocheck.driver 
  106.    in your S:user-startup.

  108. Note: If you use any Amiga chipset graphic mode different tham PAL or NTSC 
  109.       please add option FREQ to the Mroocheck.driver line in S:User-Startup.
